Palkhi is a Holy Procession which happens in Mahararahtra. It is an age old tradition which has been happening for decades. There are two processions, one from Alandi and one from Dehu, both the procession starts from their respective origins starts and reaches Pandharpur. Lakhs and lakhs of Warkaris walk for almost 250 Km to reach Pandharpur within 30 days. Since the amount of people participating in the procession are in lakhs there are problems they face due to insufficient sanitzation facilities and other accommodations.
As the Palkhi goes from village to village, the village where the Palkhi is taken face a lot of health issues due to this lack of sanitization faciltiy for the people participating in the procession. This documentary is made to highlight this specific issue.
