Nagraj Manjule Directed Sairat became highest grossing Marathi Movie. Sairat is still strong in theatres even in the 6th Week. Due to its success, many Marathi movie releases in May month were postponed. Now June 2016 will see 12 Marathi movie releases on 4 Fridays.
Youth, Cheater, Kiran Kulkarni Vs Kiran Kulkarni, 35% Katthavar Pass all were supposed to release in May got postponed. Sairat is still strong in June too. The postponed movies got added to already fixed June 2016 releases, due to which there will be 4 films released next week.
First Friday, 3rd June saw 2 releases in Youth and Laxman Utekar’s Lalbaugchi Rani. The 2nd week of June will have 4 Marathi film releases. On 10th June Ajay Phansekar directed Cheater, NFDC’s 20 Mhanje 20, Pramode Gore’s Barad and Siddharth Jadhav acted Duniya Geli Tel Lavat will compete with each other.
June’s 3rd Friday will have 3 Marathi releases. 17th June will see Kanchan Adhikari’s Kiran Kulkarni Vs Kiran Kulkarni, Tejaswini Lonari acted Bernie and Prashant Patil’s Pindadaan releases on same Friday.
The last Friday of June will not be different than the whole month, where 3 more Marathi movies releases. Bhagwan Dada’s biopic Ekk Albela, Social drama Ganvesh and Damlelya Babachi Kahani will release on 24th June.
This crowd of releases in June month will definitely affect the overall collections and performances of these films for sure. Now we have to see, which film comes out with flying colors after the blockbuster Sairat.
