Critically acclaimed film, Redu, which was screened at the Aravindan Puraskaram from Kerala’s Chalachitra Academy makes headlines yet again. The film has bagged 7 awards at the 55thMaharashtra Rajya Chitrapat Mahotsav 2018.
Releasing on 18th May 2018 all across Maharashtra, Redu is Presented by Vidhi Kasliwal’s Landmarc Films and Produced by Navalkishor Sarda of Naval Films in association with Blink Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd.
Directed and Edited by Sagar Chhaya Vanjari, Redu is the bittersweet story of a simpleton set against the spectacular backdrop of rural Konkan. “I don’t have words to describe how delighted I am that my very first film as director ‘Redu’ won in 7 categories at the State awards. I truly feel blessed with this outcome,” said Sagar Chhaya Vanjari.
Redu has already been making its mark on the national and international stage. It was screened in the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India, the only Marathi film in Competition at the Kolkata International Film Festival and the only Indian film to be screened at the Cairo International Film Festival in Egypt. It won Best Film by a debutant at the Aravindan Puraskaram and also went on to win Best Feature Film at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival. Other than Shashank Shende playing a pivotal role, the film also stars Chhaya Kadam, Gauri Konge, Vinamra Bhabal and Mrunmayi Supal.
