As an audience we all are aware of the Star Studded Gala events and prestigious award functions. But
our M-Town celebrities also attend some unique events which is really appreciable. Recently therenowned actress Sai Tamhankar attended one such event. This year the students of Bombay VeterinaryCollege presented Bravehearts-2017 in their annual fest Spandan, wherein they felicitated service dogsin various defense & home security departments, for their insurmountable service to our nation. Almost30 dogs from across 18 departments (including RCF, CISF, BDDS, NDRF, Airport Customs, and AnimalAngel Therapy Dogs) were felicitated and for the first time, six lifetime achievement awards were givento retired service dogs. Sai Tamhankar graced this event with her presence to support and appreciatethese real super heroes. Since Sai is an animal lover, she didn’t give any second thought about attendingthis unique felicitation ceremony.
Today on the occasion of National pet day Sai shared her experience about this event, “This was themost unique felicitation I ever witnessed. It was a room full of utterly cute dogs; serving the society andcountry. So I met Sam, Don, Rex, and Bingo. It's amazing how we claim to be the most intelligent specieson this planet! These dogs serve the nation. And it gave me immense joy to be there. Also got to knowthat celebs help and donate to the veterinary hospital. I also remembered my visit to the hospitalexactly a decade back for a pet turtle that I had. My best wishes to Bombay Veterinary College and luckfor the future vets!”
