From last 400 years we continuously celebrate Eknath Shashti in the Paithan where many people gathered called Pilgrims.Although Saint Eknath Maharaj did not tell anyone’s future but he changed the future of many. PILGRIM is a story of a person named Badsal (Nana), who behaves very badly with everyone in his village. He use to hit his wife daily even for small reason, hitting children’s, treating badly other people, playing cards (Jugar), drinking alcohol and many more bad things. His Best friend (Naga) use to support him in doing all the bad things. Badsal was so grass snake that he even use to treat badly to god and saints. Story take height when one day Saint Eknath Maharaj visited his village but Badsal did not allowed him to stay peacefully and treated him very badly. There, Badsal asked two questions to saint Eknath Maharaj that 1) about his future ? and 2) how can Maharaj stay so calm ?. So Maharaj replied him that he will definitely answer his questions but when time come and Saint Eknath Maharaj left from his village but Badsal were still behaving same ways. By the time passed, papa karma of Badsal increased, Badsal even behaving even more badly and so one day he saw Saint Eknath Maharaj appear in front of him and said that this is a right time to answer your first question that you asked me about your future and answer is you are going to die in just 7 days and Maharaj disappear. So, Badsal got shocked as he knows very well about Maharaj that Maharaj never tells a lie and then movie turn to good part where Badsal realizes that there is no point in behaving badly if he is going to die in 7 days. So he get scared about his life that might finish soon and so he think to do well and behave good at least for rest 7 days with everyone. So, first up all he returns all the money that he took from people, stops drinking alcohol, playing cards (Jugar) and start loving family, wife and children’s and spent happily 7 days.
But last night he cries extremely as he think this is a last night of his life and there will no more morning according to Saint Eknath Maharaj. But next day good morning start like magic where he realize that he is alive and became good human being only because of Saaint Eknath Maharaj. So, he plan to visit Paithan along with his family. When he see Eknath Maharaj in Paithan, Maharaj smiles and says that you got answer of first question, and now will give you an answer of second question that he asked to Maharaj that how Maharaj can live so calmed ?. Maharaj says, I think and everyone should understand that he is here on earth as a guest and one day will die. So, why to behave badly with anyone or worry much that’s why Maharaj is always live calm and that is the important message Eknath Maharaj gives to everyone through this Movie.
