Yaari Dosti Marathi Movie  Review

Prasad (Gade) and Rahul (Bhoske) are roommates at a boarding school. While Prasad is in love with his classmate (Mayekar), there are bullies preventing him from expressing his love. Rahul, on the other hand, is the studios kid.

One fine day, the school bullies beat up Prasad but he is saved by the arrival of Gatar (Jagtap) and Nala (Waghmode), two kids from Mumbai who’ve escaped from the traffic signal mafia run by Sayyed Fatela.

Gatar and Nala strike a friendship with Prasad and Rahul and help them out through difficulties in school. The give and take relationship continues for a while but things turn around soon enough.

By now, it should be clear that in terms of novelty value, the film scores a zero. As unusual as it may sound, Gatar and Nala (both meaning a drain outlet) actually are used as names for the kids. And because they have grown up on Mumbai’s streets, the Bambaiyya accent is thrown in liberally, sometimes a bit too much.

Hansraj Jagtap was a part of the much-acclaimed ‘Dhag’ and his performance in the film won rave reviews. Here, he’s reduced to nothing and is still better than the rest of the cast.

Avoid ‘Yaari Dosti’ and if you still feel like watching it, go alone; spare your yaars and dosts.
